Yes I feel like traveling, traveling on.....

Well, I finally found some winter boots at the Friperie (thrift store) today. We are getting closer to being ready for our first Canadian winter...and yes, it is coming quickly! Josh is still needing some winter boots and Brenna still wants a fur coat....poor little girl...she's going to be heart broken with no fur coat!

We are packing, cleaning, and getting the van ready for our trip to Stevensville, Ontario (just outside of Niagara Falls). It will take about 10 hours for us to get there. We had our van checked out last week because it was making some awful noise in the right front tire. We took it to a big chain store here and they charged me $40 to take the tire off and gave me an estimate of what needed to be done.........let's just say that the estimate was more than the van is probably worth! (They wanted to replace the rotors, brakes, 4 calipers and some other stuff....trust me, it probably needs to be done!) I told them to put the van back together and when I drove off, the sound was gone....Praise the Lord for that! The only problem is that after a couple of days, I noticed they broke off one of our lug nut bolts!!!! I was assured by a different, trustworthy mechanic this week that the other four lug nuts are going to hold just fine for our trip............

We will be a part of the Mission's Conference at Golden Harvest Baptist Church. We are supposed to be there by Saturday and the meeting is from Sunday thru Wednesday. We are looking forward to the fellowship, food, and sightseeing as well. I will be teaching a SS class, preaching, and presenting our field of service. Please pray for our family as we travel to and from the conference.

Creating A Servant's Heart....

This evening, I had the great opportunity to work with some of the young people from church. This children's ministry is called "Petits Vaillants" and the emphasis is too teach the children how to be servants and learn to be a blessing to people.

This evening we made gifts for visitors who visit the church. As you can see from the pictures, each gift contained a mug, wrapped candy, a pen, a gospel tract/booklet, and a church magnet. We all had fun making these little gifts!

Today was supposed to be a big day of getting alot accomplished......didn't turn out that way...

As we got ready for the Church breakfast this morning, I sat down with a cup of coffee at the table with my Bible before we were to leave. All of a sudden, my back began to cramp with excruciating pain directly in the center of my back. I layed down on the bed and writhed in pain. It got so bad that Kami tried to talk me into going to the ER but I just didn't want to go sit in an emergency room in such pain. After about an hour the pain lessened and I have been on the couch ever since living on Motrin. The pain is light and still there but I can cope with this.

This evening, Kami cooked Caribou. This is the first time that we have had caribou, we have had elk, deer, raccoon (yes, we found out after the fact!), possom (another surprise!), rabbit and some other strange meals. I was looking forward to the caribou since we love deer (venison). It turned out great and was very lean yet still very moist. Gre
at meal!

This morning it was 36 (F) degrees and the leaves are getting very vibrant in color. What a beautiful time of year. It is completely dark by 7 PM and we are looking forward to our first snow. Kami's mom is supposed to be coming in mid October and I am not sure who is more excited, the kids or Kami!!! One of her highlights is the thought of having her mom here and showing her around the sights of Quebec City. She is so excited!

Birthing Center and Mid-wife found (see pics below!)

We believe that we have found the place that we tentatively would like to have our upcoming baby. The baby is due sometime in May around the 9th which is Kami's birthday! There is a birthing center here in Quebec City staffed by several mid-wives.

On Wednesday, we all went to the Birthing Center for a tour and to meet the staff. Madame Estelle went with us to interpret for us and to show us where the place is located. The facilities reminded us of the birthing center that we had Silas at and the mid-wives were very nice. The philosophy is exactly the same as in the states...birth is a natural process. The center is located in a 200 year-old building that was originally used as a house for the Catholic priest of the Catholic church next door (kinda spooky I think!) Other than that piece of information, we are fine with everything else!

We have personally found the mid-wife.......Here he is already to go with stethescope around his neck! Silas really wants to help! Elisabeth found one of these doctor play sets and Silas loved playing with it....I don't think he would charge for his services!

Preaching! "...unto us which are saved it is the power of God."

The National Canadian Preacher's conference was a great blessing and success! This is an annual meeting where the preacher's from all over Canada come together for encouragement, fellowship and preaching. To my understanding, this is the first time this conference was held in Quebec and Pastor Roy and Pastor Cote (two local pastors) did a great job overseeing and planning the event. The conference was held in a conference room at the Hotel Quebec and was two days long. Over 150 preachers, wives, missionaries and families traveled to Quebec City for fellowship, singing, and preaching! The singing was both in French and English and the messages were all translated in both languages as well.


Our family enjoyed the singing so much....it is always stirring to hear men sing and echo their voices in unity! We did not realize that we missed singing in english as much as we have. Josh, Beth, and Brenna commented several times about how wonderful it was to sing out and understand what we are singing!

Kami and the kids took part in the services and what a blessing they were (I love to hear them sing!). Kami played the piano for the singing and some of the specials (Her piano playing in French has come along a whole lot faster than her speaking!..). Actually, Kami sang in a ladies trio and some of the verses were in French and she did a great job!

Silas was a huge "hit" at the conference. He drew much attention and was the highlight of the day for some folks! Here, one of the missionaries, took Silas and carried him around to all of the display tables (see the picture below, he and Silas are in the background!). He put hats on his head and had a great time with him...although Silas doesn't look to happy in this picture! Silas had a great time taking people's water bottles from them. Mrs. Lucy from our church has been giving him her finished water bottles to chew on and play with.....Silas saw a lady with a water bottle in her hand standing next to him, so he reached over and grabs it right out of her hands and stuck it in his mouth.....he knows how to be able to keep items!!!....she didn't want it back after it had been in his mouth!

The preaching was powerful! Beginning from Pastor Roy's message to the final message on Tuesday evening, each was bathed in prayer and it showed. I will try to get the some of the messages for anyone who wants to hear them, you will not regret it! Joshua with tears in his eyes (when the meeting was over) said, "Dad, I wish the meeting wasn't over.....I love preaching and I love being with preachers...." The Bible says, "The preaching of the cross is unto them that perish foolishness, but unto us which are saved, it is the power of God." If you do not love preaching, I truly believe that you are not right with God and a weak Christian! Give me a young man any day that would rather listen to preaching than waste away his day playing video games! What a powerful past couple of days!!!

Our Car Was Surrounded By Police..!!!!

When Beth and I came out of Bureau en Gros (Staples office supply) our van was surrounded by police looking in the windows of our van....should we run and get away or face the charges against us......okay, okay...there was one police car with two officers, of which one was looking into our van......but the original story sounds so much better!

Monday's is our day for Kami to go grocery shopping and I stay at home with our kids so they can do their home-schooling . Today we all went because I had to go to the office supply store to get some envelopes and ink. Brenna, Silas and Josh went with Kami into Wal-Mart and Elisabeth and I went into the office supply. When we came out, the police were there looking into our van. When I asked if everything was ok, they asked for my driver's license and wanted to know why we were in Canada...(our car tags our from Florida). Then he asked who the little girl was with me. I told him she is my daughter and he promptly wanted to know why she isn't in school. I explained to him that we are missionaries helping a church here in Canada and that we have a two-year visitor's VISA's. I also explained that our children do "ecole de la maison" (home schooling). He informed me that a woman who works at Staples called the police because my little girl was not in school.

They ran my license, car tags, and questioned Elisabeth about who she was and then they asked me for our home phone number...I do not know it (I don't call myself...I use our cell phone!)..... Then he asked for our home address ( I gave him that) and then he asked for the church address ( I don't have it memorized!) I explained where it was and then I remembered I have Gospel Tracts in the van with the church address and our prayer card so I gave him both. He looked at the tract information, then our prayer card and he smiled and called me his "brother" and shook my hand! He said that he understood now and that everything was fine. With a big smile he said that he too was saved and gave me his blessings to keep doing what we are doing! Beth finally began to breathe again and we were on our way! Praise the Lord for fellow Christians! We could have gotten some hard-headed police officer who could have given us some real problems.....but God protected us!

Sage-Femme

Sage-Femme is the french name for "midwife". After many calls and internet searches, I believe that we have found a midwife at a birthing center not far from our house here in Quebec City. We will be "touring" the facilities on Wednesday and meeting the midwives that we will be seeing and working with. (My only hope is that I won't have to deliver any babies as I did with our two daughters!)

I will be preaching tomorrow at another church on the East side of Quebec City about 30 minutes from our house. The Pastor and his family will be on vacation and have asked me to preach and for Kami to play the piano. I am looking forward to the opportunity to teach Sunday school and to preach in the AM service!

Today was a good relaxing day for our family. It seems that school and homework take the majority of our time and it was nice to put all of the French work aside for a while. We went to the Flea Market after breakfast (we are trying to find some more needed winter clothes) and ended up buying a stationary exercise bike for $15! It has an electronic calorie counter/speedometer/timer on it. The only problem is that loading it into the van, I threw out my back! Kami is accusing me of doing it on purpose so I won't exercise on the bike....she'll never know! It was great to be able to rest my back today, work on messages, and just play with my kids. What a great day!

I think it's over!

Well, I am glad that the "bug" has left our house! After 4 different children with fevers and everyone in our family having the stomach virus, we are glad that this evening everyone seems fine! I was the last one to struggle with this short-lived flu and I feel a whole lot better this evening. For each of us, it seemed to be a 24 hour bug.

I had to attend classes with only Josh on Wednesday (everyone else was sick) and after his school work was done, he joined in on the French lessons from our teacher, Ms. Plante. She was testing my skills in oral comprehension by having me write down the years she was saying in French. Josh began to answer the questions before I could! I did not realize that he knew his French numbers so well. Thus began a competition between me and him to see who could get the most right! I was very impressed and proud of him, all three kids have been working hard at studying their French lessons. (By the way, I was informed today that there are 12 Verb Tenses.......Ughhhh!!!)

We are over the initial shock of expecting another baby and are beginning to make plans of where to deliver this new bundle of joy. Kami has been making plenty of calls and Madame Estelle has been making calls for us as well (Thank you so much Ms. Estelle for being such a blessing to our family!...You are a great testimony for Christ!). We have learned and continue to learn that Socialized medicine is definitely different......I am truly shocked at the amount of people in America who endorse President Obama's health care plan........they have no idea what they are in for! We are still working on the details and even looking into a birth center here in Quebec City. We are asking for the Lord's direction.

Our Pastor is doing well and recovering fairly quickly. He even visited Kami's grandmother who was in the same hospital just a few doors down from his. It is amazing that he has just had a six-bypass heart surgery and is up walking around making hospital visits! (We also praise the Lord that Kami's grandmother is back at home!)

Thank you to everyone who sent emails and messages congratulating us on Kami's pregnancy....we ask for your continued prayers for both her and the baby. God is so good!!!

Qu'est-ce Que Faites???

In honor of Madame Estelle, we titled today's post after her! Whenever she sees Silas, she says to him, "Qu' est-ce que Faites, Silas?" It means, "What's happening?"

Here are today's happenings:

Yesterday, all of our family had the stomach "bug" and two or our children (Josh & Beth) had fevers. This morning, Brenna now is sick and Beth is slowly recovering. I am going to head to French class and Joshua is going to go with me (Josh seems fine now and I have not begun to run a fever). Kami will stay home and try to "doctor" the rest of the family.

It is getting chilly out there! The temperatures are dropping and the leaves are turning flame orange and bright red on the trees. We love all of the fall colors! The temperature today is forecast with a high of 16 degrees Celsius (61 F) and a low of 5 degrees Celsius (41 F). We love these cool temperatures and I have to admit, I am not looking forward to the hot temperatures of the West Indies when we get there!

French classes are going along well. Madame Plante told us that we are coming along just fine. I am starting to realize that there are some people who do not really understand what Language School is for a missionary. My mother told us that someone asked her, "Are they done with language school yet, they should be ready to leave for the West Indies by now?" Folks must understand that we are learning the French language to be able to live, preach, and witness to French citizens. We must learn the language exceptionally well. We must know not only the grammer rules, conjugation of verbs, tenses, etc. but also the culture and subtilties of an entirely different nationality. This is not a vacation for a week where all we need to learn is, "Can I have a coffee?...or, Where's the bathroom?" In most cases, we may have but one chance to present the Gospel to French citizens, and to be able to present it in a way that they understand and comprehend fully. For anyone who thinks that learning a language is a matter of using Rosetta Stone "where you can speak the language after just one day", I challenge you to pick up a French Bible and start translating a Sunday School lesson into English....just let me know how it works for you! Just yesterday we learned that there are 4 major ways to ask the same question and each has different grammer rule. There are also 12 parts of speech that we must learn when conjugating verbs. For homework, I spent 6 hours yesterday working on translating, grammer, etc. I now officially have what missionaries call the "language school headache!"

Unexpectedly Big News!!!

The Gimenez Family would like to say, "Nous allons avoir un bébé !"

Yes, you translated that right, "We are going to have a baby!"

We have been praying for several months about whether the Lord would have us to have another baby. We love the way our older three children interact with each other, take care of each other, and play with each other. When Joshua will be 18, Silas will only be 5 years old. We wanted Silas to have a sibling to be raised with just as our older 3 have had.

Needless to say, the Lord answered our prayers......very unexpectedly......we were praying about maybe having a baby in a year or two. When we told our older kids, they were so excited!!! They began to scream and jump up & down....(they each have been begging for us to have another baby, they love Silas and wanted him to have a sibling to grow up with just as he did!)

We are very excited and very nervous as well...there are so many things to prepare and plan for but we know that our Heavenly Father can prepare a table in the wilderness! We ask that you please keep both baby and Momma in your prayers!

Noteworthy News!!!

This past Friday evening, our children had the great opportunity to meet their Great-Grand Mother for the first time! Using "Skype" (a video call) we were able to speak with my grandmother whom my children have never met. They also got to meet some great-aunts and great-uncles for the first time as well. It was a great video call and we enjoyed the time together!

It is amazing what we can do with modern tecnology these days! This is my mother's family and they live in French West Indies, thus the reason for our children never meeting them. We bought my mom a web camera for her birthday this earlier this month and introduced her to "Skype". We have been able to see and talk with her. She then introduced our family in the French West Indies to "Skype" and now she can easily see and speak with her mom as well! This has been a great blessing to all of us!

Also, we want to praise the Lord for a 100 year-old man who trusted Christ this past Saturday. It is rare that someone this age accepts Christ and we praise the Lord for his decision! God is so good!!!

Updates & New News...

We started back into our second session of language school last Tuesday. It has been a very busy week with homework so I am just now getting around to posting this update! Ms. Claire Plante is our professor and a wonderful teacher. She has coffee ready for us at 9 AM and juice and cookies for the kids! Our kids do their school work at her kitchen table and Silas takes his nap in his pack-n-play. Kami and I meet with Madame Plante in her office for school. We are having a great time!

Our Pastor Don Strange, from what we heard, had a "six bypass surgury" on Friday. He is still recovering in ICU and should be moving to a regular hospital room today or tomorrow. Please continue to pray for him and his family. We love our Pastor very much and hope he can get back into the pulpit soon!

We had a meeting about 2 1/2 hours away in Sherbrooke, Canada yesterday. Madame Estelle, a friend from church, rode with us and what a great fellowship we had. We laughed and had a great time. The conference was great. Our family sang and I briefly gave a testimony about our call to the mission field. The preaching was great although the messages were mostly in French. Bro. Jason Hamby sat behind me and translated the service whispering. It was a long day for our children who could not hear the translation into English. It is not easy having to spend an entire day listening to preaching that you cannot understand yet our 3 children did a great job listening and had a great attitude! On our way home, Madame Estelle brought some McDonald's coupons so we stopped and had McDonalds! Our first trip to McDonalds since May 8th! We enjoyed it so much! We praise the Lord for safety while driving and for fellowship with God's people!

I do want to mention one testimony from a preacher working on a reservation with indians in the far north of Canada. He has been working for 34 years with these indians and still trying to start their first church........He gave a praise report yesterday and said that they have been able to start leading 3rd generation children to the Lord and these young people are growing in the Lord. He made the statement, "If we had gotten discouraged and quit only after 10 years, these children would not be saved today!" Another missionary in China spoke about scores of chinese getting saved and the growth of the churches there. I am reminded, it is not the size or growth of the church but the faithfulness of God's men and women to bring the Gospel to the world. God is interested in the few that have gotten saved in the indian reservation of Canada just as much as He is interested in the scores saved in China. We should never judge a man's ministry by the size but by his faithfulness and service to the Saviour!

Pray For Our Pastor...

We ask that everyone please pray for our Pastor, Don Strange. He had a mild heart attack last week while in Montana and was supposed to have a heart cath yesterday. The doctors stopped the procedure when things didn't go as planned. He underwent a multiple bypass surgery today. He is currently in ICU and will be kept there for about 3 days and then if all is well he will be moved to a regular room until he fully recovers. Thank you for your prayers for him and his precious wife, Mrs. Judy Strange.

Happy, Happy, Birthday!!!!!

Today is my mom's birthday and I just want to wish her a happy birthday!!! God gave me the opportunity to lead my mom to Christ in 1995 and she has steadily been growing as a Christian. She loves reading her Bible everyday and is in church every time the doors are open. She really is the hardest working lady I know. She is a great cook, housekeeper, babysitter, and friend. Thank you mom for being such a great mom! We love you so much....have a great Birthday !!!

Poutine & Fellowship...we are true Baptists!

On our way home from church, we pass a roadside walk-up food shack (What do you call these kind of places?). They are only open during the summer months and will be closing up for the winter. Every time we pass by, there is normally a very big line waiting to order so we knew the food had to be good.

Kami had the bright idea of inviting everyone at church to join us there after the services Sunday night for ice cream and poutine. Just about everyone showed up and what a great fellowship we all had enjoying ice cream and poutine!!! Here is some of our group at the ice cream stand. The stand in the background is where we ordered our food earlier in the evening...you should have seen the line then!

Our family ordered the italian poutine and the regular poutine...if you ever get to Quebec, you have got to order this local favorite! The girls played Redlight/Greenlight and the boys played football while the adults talked, laughed and told stories! What a great evening and the sweaters we brought did not stay in the van....it got very chilly as the sun set! However, it is never to cold to enjoy the ice cream cones dipped in melted dark chocolate!

Blessings Upon Blessings....

The Lord has blessed us in scheduling upcoming meetings to present our ministry and to preach. We have two meetings this month and 3 Mission's conferences scheduled for next month. The great part is that each of the meetings we have scheduled, the Pastors have called us! Praise the Lord!

Family Fun Night is something that we do each Friday evening (It started out on Thursday but we had to move it to Friday because of Language school.) We believe in spending valuable time as a family and being invovled in our children's lives. I have often asked older preachers and missionaries about their lives and asked them to give me some advice as parents and as a preacher. I will often ask a "seasoned" preacher or missionary this question: "What one piece of advice would you give to a young preacher and missionary, maybe something you learned from experience, that I need to remember and learn?" All of the great men I have asked this question to said the same thing........"Don't forsake your family. If you lose your family you lose your ministry..." I have taken this to heart and our family time is important to us and our children love it!

Each Friday we plan a special event for our family and a special dinner. Last night our children wanted chicken strips (with home-made honey mustard) and french fries. We also plan on a fun event or craft (we have done scavenger hunts, crafts, games, etc.). They are inexpensive ideas but fun. This past week we studied the life of Joseph and for family fun night we all had to come up with some sort of project to share with the rest of the family about Joseph. Everyone did a great job, here is what each of us did:

Patrick - I colored posters picturing each of the Butler and Baker's dreams and I had a short quiz about these men.

Kami - She sewed scraps of old fabric and made a miniature coat of many colors!
Joshua - Took pictures of differenct scenes from Joseph's life (using our camera and setting up LEGO scenes) and put the pictures on TV and gave us an overview of major events in his life! (This scene is Joseph being thrown into the pit. The animals are their sheep.)
Elisabeth - Made a "Welcome to Egypt" poster advertising the sale of various foods during the famine. (Kami's Coat of Many Colors is on the doll!)
Brenna - Took a shoe box and modeling clay and set up a diorama of various scenes of Joseph's life! (Notice the blood stains on Joseph's Coat!)
Silas - Took apart Brenna's clay diorama and tried to eat it!

We all had fun studying the life of Joseph and praise the Lord for a wonderful example of a Godly man!

School Is In Session!

Our children just started school today! They are excited and Josh even woke up at 6 AM to get started on his day! (We'll see how long that lasts!). We prayed together as a family, said our pledges (I believe we ought to teach our young people the Pledge of Allegiance!!!) and said our pledge to God's Word. They are working hard and enjoying their school.

We want to praise the Lord for giving us the schooling for free. We had to pay for shipping and for the resource books that they have to read for literature but the rest of the curriculum was provided for our children by A.C.E. !!! This is a direct answer to prayer.

Those Who Made A Difference....

I began thinking about certain people who have had an impact in our Christian lives and were a reason that my family is where we are today: Saved, Christians, Separated, Missionaries. I wanted to mention some of these people who had a big impact in our lives both in example and in teaching us the things the Lord wanted us to learn. Again, I want to emphasize that this is some of the people and not everyone....there were many more who made an impact in our lives!

Pastor Shawn Smith: Pastor Smith was Kami's youth director when she was a teenager. He had a big impact on her life in teaching her Biblical doctrine and principles. Pastor Smith was also the one who led me to the Lord back on March 4, 1993! Praise the Lord for faithful men! The church he pastors even supports us as their missionaries this very day!

Pastor Vince Williams & his wife, Mrs. Jennifer: When my family was transferred to Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS, the Lord led us to Tri-City Baptist Church. Here was a pivotal point in our life. Bro. Vince is a missionary to the military and his family took our family under their "wings" and began to disciple us. I really did not know I was being "discipled". I thought we were just coming over to their house for fellowship and good food, then Bro. Vince would take out his Bible and teach us. He showed us Biblical separation, how to study my Bible, and introduced me to the ministry. It was here that I surrendered my life to preach. It was not just Bro. Vince that had an impact on our lives, his wife Mrs. Jennifer had a great impact on Kami. Mrs. Jennifer taught Kami about modesty and how to be a Godly mother and home maker. Thanks to Mrs. Jennifer for motivating my wife to make and provide modest clothing, teaching her how to provide for your family in crafty ways, and to make the best pot of "chicken and dumplings" that my taste buds have ever eaten!


Bro. Mike Strong: Bro. Mike taught me the art of soul-winning. We would go out on Saturday mornings and visit door-to-door. I would remember being amazed at how he could get people to talk with him even if they didn't want us there. He taught me how to start conversations and find things in common with everyone whom he witnessed to. He showed me to look at cars in people's driveways, their bumper stickers, military decals and license plates. You can learn a lot about people by looking at their car or home before even speaking with them. He would use this information to start friendly conversations with people......he truly has the gift of communication.

Pastor Jim Brown & his wife, Mrs. Brown: Bro. Brown is one of the greatest men I know. He is like a father to me even when my own father (for a time) turned against me for surrendering my life to preach the Gospel. Bro. Brown accepted the challenge of training me in the ministry after I left the Air Force. It was my goal to serve the Lord and to make Bro. Brown proud.....although there were times I think he wanted to strangle me! (Sorry Bro. Brown for flooding the platform three times by letting the Baptistry overflow, for causing it to rain in the church during the Sunday morning service, for the crushed septic tank, for bringing the bus load of people with drug addictions to church...yes the ones who cursed and smoked through the services, and a host of other things!) Bro. Brown is a hero to me and his "practicality" sessions in the Bible Institute taught me more about being a preacher and Godly man than anything else! He taught me the Bus Ministry, Sunday School Ministry, Junior Church, Tent Revivals, and how to build a church for the Lord. Mrs. Brown was instumental in training me how to run and direct a Junior Church and to deal with children. Thank you so much for investing in our lives...we praise the Lord for you! I knew I could always go to Bro.Brown with any problem and he would cry or laugh with me and give me a Biblical response to my problems.


Bro. Cliff Block & His wife Mrs. Theresa: Both Bro. Block and his wife were used of the Lord to teach me the art of working in Junior churches and how to work with children. When I first saw them singing and acting silly in junior church, I thought they had lost it for sure!!! They have a talent in working with young people! Bro. Block hired me to work in his construction crew.....I am sure there were times he wanted to strangle me as well. We built houses, roofed, installed siding, concrete work, electrical, plumbing and a host of other things to include building Crossroads Baptist Church. He was used of the Lord to teach me to build. I have used those skills when I built an entire garage and living room to our house that we owned in Florida and even today when I rewired and did some sheetrock work in our girls' bedroom! When ever i pick up a hammer I think of him. These skills he passed on to me will be used one day on the mission field!


There are many more people that I can list and I will post them at from time to time in the future. I commend all Christians to invest in other people's lives.

This past Sunday, we had a missionary family visit. The Mossman's from Cameroon in Africa were a fine family and we enjoyed some great fellowship both during and after church. One of the things that were planned was for the church to have an old fashioned Corn Cob Party! The French name for a Corn Cob Party is Épluchette de blé d`inde!

After church, we loaded up our vehicles and headed about 40 minutes Ouest (West) to Madame Estelle Piche's maison (house)...I am trying to throw in a few French words! For the past two days we have had rain and cold weather. We asked God for clear weather on Dimanche (Sunday)for this outdoor fellowship. When we woke up Sunday morning, it was raining and the sky was thick with dark clouds. However, when we arrived at Ms. Estelle's home, the blue skies broke through and what a great afternoon the Lord gave us! We ate lot's of the most sweetest corn I think I may have ever had!

(Upon arrival, we began to shuck a sack of corn along with several Wal-Mart sacks of corn. You can see the sun beginning to shine!)

(The corn was boiled in a big pot over a propane burner. You take a hot cob and roll in on this big stick of butter...until it drips! Then salt it and you are ready to go!)(Kami will now demonstrate the last process!)
