We have had several people to ask about how to send a care package/birthday card to Joshua for his birthday. So I thought I would just post our mailing address and pertinent information.
We have found that if you mail a letter/envelope from the U.S., it takes approximately 3 weeks to get to our mailbox. We have noticed that it takes 2-2 1/2 weeks for us to send a letter and it reach an address in the states. So, please make note to send anything "time sensitive" with plenty of time to arrive.

Odds-n-Ends pictures.....
I thought you might like to see the car we have...(I call it my truck!), many of you have prayed for this vehicle for us and we thank you.
This is our little friend...yes, a rat....that comes into our yard everyday for a bite to eat!
It has been very hot here, so Kami and the girls decided to cool off by playing in the rain.
I decided to surprise our family for breakfast one morning. I went to the bakery and bought some butter croissants, french bread, and pain au chocolate (chocolate croissants)! Mmmmmm! We love the chocolate croissants!
We will try to post pictures as we can. We have lots that we want to share with you and show you our home and life here on St. Barthelemy!

Still No Phone......For A Long Time!
I just wanted to let everyone know that we checked with the phone company yesterday and they told us that we will not have phone/internet service at our house for at least 2 more months.....maybe longer.
The good thing is that we can accesss our emails at my Aunt/Uncle's house and be able to check them from time to time. Today, I also hooked up our Vonage phone. We will only be able to use it when we are at my Aunt/Uncle's place for now, but at least we can call family and get in touch with people if we need to.
It has been hot lately and the mosquitos seem to still be in "full force", especially after the rains that we have had. A pastor's wife gave us a little trick to try to help fight the mosquitos. Spray some lemon mixed with water on you and it helps keep the mosquitos away. We have some limes so I am hoping that they will do the same thing! If you have any mosquito repellent tricks, please feel free to email us with your suggestions.
I have an appointment at the garage tomorrow to get our new shocks put on our Suzuki. Then I take the car back to the inspection station to get it approved for final registration. Our car has been running great and I am so glad that we got a vehicle with 4X4. The other day, when the road was wet, we began to slip. So I slipped the car into 4-wheel drive and up we went without a problem.
One big prayer request that we have is for folks to pray for our paperwork that we still need to get back from France. Without it, we can only stay here on St. Barths for 3 months. Joshua and I have already spent 1 month here. The lady in France said that she is waiting on the government from the island of St. Thomas (where I was born) to send her some paperwork regarding their legislation. It has been well over 2 months since she asked for this paperwork. Please pray that this all gets done quickly so we can get our French passports.
We will let you know some more details later but for now, this is just a quick post. Thank you everyone for your prayers for our family!

Update from the Mission Field!
I wanted to give a quick update as to how we are doing. We still do not have our home phone service nor our internet service hooked up at our house. I was told that it could be hooked up after the 27th of this month. They are not sure when because as of right now, there are no available lines.
We are still settling in and making things home and of course still running lots of errands. One of the requirements here is that a renter must have renter's insurance on their household goods. So yesterday, we got this accomplished. Our shocks for the car came in today. So in the next day or two, I will try to have the local garage put them on. Then I will take the car back to the inspection station and get the car approved to have it registered on the island. There is still lots to do and several more jobs to get done.
On Monday, Kami made some fresh chocolate chip cookies and we delivered them to our neighbors. On our left side are two elderly sisters that live together. We sat down and stumbled through our French talking to them only to find out, as we were about to leave, that they speak English! On our right side, we have not yet met the owner of the house who lives upstairs. However, Kami was able to meet the renters who live downstairs. They are Portuguese and Kami was able to meet the mother and her son. She speaks no English but Kami and her had a good conversation in French.
To try to keep Silas and Callie safe, I installed this gate on our front porch to keep the kids in. They have both had lots of fun playing on the big porch. This is also where we eat most of our meals as well.
Silas is having fun playing with his toy tools and workshop.
Callie is having fun just getting into everything and eating everything she finds!
We will keep trying to post some things when we can get internet. Hopefully soon we will have everything hooked up at our house!

Just a quick update....
We only have a minute, so I thought I would give everyone a quick update as to our happenings up until now:
1)We are still awaiting a home phone and internet service to be installed at our house. We still do not have a time frame as to when this will be done.
2)We praise the Lord that we have air conditioning in the bedrooms. It has been very hot during the day and we sweat non-stop! But at least in the evening time, we can get a small repose from the heat while we sleep.
3)The mosquitos are going to take every drop of blood that they can get! They love the "fresh" blood from Americans, especially the children. Beth had over 30 mosquito bites on her legs alone! Sometime in the future, we might pay the 160 Euros to get our property sprayed for mosquitos.
4) Our car arrived today (Wednesday)! Yea! We have run around all day trying to get everything lined up to register and title our car. We had to pay an additional tax at the Port to import our vehicle that we did not expect. We also took our car to the inspection station to which we learned that our vehicle failed the inspection. We need to have new shocks put on the rear of the car and we need to get this done in the next week before we can get our title and registration. The problem is that the garage is trying to find the part to have it shipped from Florida!
5) Other than that, everything so far is going fine. We have been stuck at the house for the past week without a vehicle, but this has let us get school going, get the house all set up, and we have enjoyed some family time together.

Our Address...
I wanted to post our new "field" address here on St. Barthelemy. We have had several churches, friends and family members who have sent us birthday cards and care-packages from time to time. For each of these, we are so thankful and honored. It is such a blessing to us to know that people care and remember us.
If you are wanting to send us a card or even a care-package, it would be a blessing to us if you sent them to our address here. Please do not use our P.O. Box address if at all possible. (This will cost us money as we will have to forward everything from our P.O. Box to us here on the field.)
