Update on Patrick's Dad and March Happenings

First, an update on Patrick's Dad. He's improved so much over the past week! He was slowly weaned off the life support and is now breathing on his own with the use of an oxygen mask. He's still a little confused on everything that happened. They took him out of ICU on Saturday and are now discussing options about Rehab. He's still very weak, so please keep praying. Thank you so much for praying for Patrick's Dad and his family during this time. Sunday we had a great time at Brookton Baptist Church. The church is very missions minded and we enjoyed fellowshipping with the friendly church family. They have some wonderful cooks at that church! We enjoyed a grand lunch and then dinner after the evening services. That night they also voted to take us on for support! Praise the Lord!!

Today, Monday, we had our departure interview with Macedonia. Our scheduled departure for language school is April 28th. Please be praying for us. We're so excited about this next step of faith we will be taking!

A Day At The "Fun" Park!

What a wonderful day! Pastor James Kelly and Third Street Baptist Church have been such a blessing to our family in so many ways! Today, Mrs. Kelly took several ladies and the missionary wives shopping, (Kami was in her element!). Pastor Kelly took the missionary children and their dad's to Fun Park in Albany, Georgia. We played games, played putt-putt, rode go-carts, rode bumper cars and ate hot dogs and finished our afternoon with Japanese food! Tomorrow the ladies will finish shopping....why does it take 2 days (???)...must be a woman thing! The men are going fishing!!!!! Praise the Lord! We have definitely been showered with love and good old hospitality. Here are some pictures of our exciting day....

Some Great Meetings!!!

We have finished several great mission's conferences and meetings. We would like to thank Grace Independent Baptist Church and Pastor Paul Perkins in Ocean Springs, Mississippi! The food was amazing and the preaching was wonderful. We had the opportunity to present our ministry in their Christian school and I was also able to preach a 20 minute message during one of the evening services. Grace Independent is a special place for us. We were members of this church when we were in the Air Force stationed in Biloxi, MS. Grace is a place that loves preaching! Thank you for all of the wonderful meals. Everyone had a true servant's heart as we were waited upon during the meals and we all felt like kings and queens! We praise the Lord for you!

A Place To Call Home

As we continue to get everything in order to start language school in Quebec City, Canada, things really seem to be coming together. Our plans are to work out of Eglise Baptiste De St-Augustin under Pastor Guillaume Roy. Pastor Roy has been such a blessing to our family and we are excited to work along side of him in our language studies. Pastor Roy and the church have a real burden in helping missionaries that need to learn French for their respective fields. They have started a language school this year and we are thrilled to be a future part of their ministry.

Pastor Roy and the church have been working for over a month trying to find a place for us to rent while in language school. He called me this past Saturday and said that he has located an apartment and we truly believe the Lord has brought this apartment just for us! Finding a place in our price range located near the church and school was not an easy task but with God, all things are possible! This apartment is located about 10 miles from the church and about 5 minutes from the language school. We would have the downstairs apartment which is 3 bedrooms, has a basement, big back yard and comes fully furnished along with all appliances including washer and dryer. All dishes, utensils, bed sheets are included as well. All utilities (electricity, water, heat), telephone, and internet service is included in the rent as well. All this for $1200 Canadian! With the current exchange rate, it works out to $1000 US Dollars! We sent the monies this week to hold the apartment for us when we arrive in May and the landlords did not even want first and last month's rent or a security deposit (all they wanted was the rent for May). Needless to say, we have rented our future home!!! We will write more about the details about the actual language school in a later post and try to answer some of your questions. Keep praying for us as we still need some more support before we leave in May and need a few more churches to take us on to make everything a reality.
