God is still in the saving business!!!

This past Sunday, we had a great attendance for the Sunday morning service.  In fact, we had to pull out a few more chairs to put in the back to be able to comfortably fit the 54 people who came to Victory Springs Ind. Baptist Church.

At the invitation, a 50 year-old man came forward weeping.  He was ready to get things right in his heart and life.  Our missionary, Glenn Sebast, happened to drop in with us for the morning service and he was able to lead this man in accepting Jesus Christ as his Savior while I finished the invitation!!!

As you can see, we have changed around the auditorium.  We knocked down the walls that we built for a Sunday school room and baby nursery.  Then we switched the way the auditorium was facing.

It's great to listen to the folks singing out the old time-tested Hymns from their hearts!

Joshua had 12 in the Junior church.

Because we took chairs to add to the auditorium, Micah was relegated to using the high chair!

Joshua preached and two of the boys came forward to accept Christ as Savior!  Joshua gave a testimony of one of the boys beginning to cry while asking God to save him...then Joshua started crying along with him.  The two boys found me after the service and were so excited to tell me that they "got saved today"!

 

In the midst of this perverse and wicked world in which we live in, we need to remind ourselves that God is still on the throne, still saving souls, still calling men to preach, still sending missionaries, still changing lives and still building His church! 

 

Praise God!

"Dad! Rattlesnake!"

It was 2 weeks ago when Brenna went outside to get something out of our then, not wrecked Expedition.  As she walked off of the front porch, she noticed a rattle sticking out from under the truck.  That's all she saw...a rattle.

She turned around and ran inside yelling, "Dad!  Rattlesnake!" 

My first reaction was, "She can't tell the difference between one snake and another!"  But when I got to the front door and the rattlesnake met me at the front step, I yelled, "Josh!  Get the shotgun!"

This beast had made it to our front step and that is about as far as he got!

He measured out at 4 & 1/2 feet with 12 rattles.  He was a big boy! 

 

I am glad that God allowed Brenna to see the rattle sticking out from under the truck.  I am also glad that I was able to kill this snake who was deciding to make our front porch his home.  You see, it  would have been just another hour before the kids would be running off of the front steps to the get in the vehicle for church. 

God's Protection!

On Friday, Kami took the kids to the park at Payne's Prairie.  As they were walking out of the house, I called them back in to pray.  I asked God to protect them as they would be traveling about 45 minutes away. 

I spent the morning studying and preparing for Sunday until 3:20 in the afternoon when I got a call from Brenna, "Daddy, we are all okay but we've been in an accident." (Kami was talking to the police.)

As Kami stopped at a red light, the truck behind never slowed down and crashed into them sending our Expedition into the intersection.  Their truck was actually stuck under our vehicle and it took a tow truck to get them apart.  The impact knocked Kami's shoes off of her feet and her glasses were finally found in the back seat.

There are some very sore necks and aching bodies, but we Praise the Lord for His protection!  He is Great & Greatly to be Praised!

We are so thankful for His answer to our prayer for safety!

Their truck was totaled...but the young man who was driving and whom we know is fine and we are thankful for his safety. 

Even with the hole, my Eagles emblem is still there! 

 Fly EAGLES Fly!

The bumper is facing downward, the rear door is smashed, the right tail light is busted out, but my family is safe!  Also, I want to say, "Thank you!" to Ford for building such a tough machine known as an Expedition!

Picture Update!

We have been extremely busy with the renovations to not only the nursery but to the auditorium as well.  Here are some pics of the completed nursery:

 In all, the new nursery will be 250 square feet!

 

We added an oak vinyl flooring which will be easier to disinfect and keep clean.

Here is the completed floor and a sky ceiling with clouds.

 

Kami and the girls worked on quilted kites and hot air balloons that will be 'flying' through the sky!

The nursery workers are excited about the bathroom being attached to the nursery.  Also, the parents love the windows in the door so that they can check on their little ones at any time.

 

Here is one of our Sunday morning crowds.  We had a high day of 41 two weeks ago and this prompted our need to enlarge the auditorium.
