I would like to share with you a blessing...okay, maybe I'm bragging just a little bit but what parent wouldn't when they desire that their children love and serve God with all their heart!
Joshua and Elisabeth have been in Florida for over 1 week now and will be returning this Saturday. We are ready to have them home! (You can read my earlier posts as to why they are there.)
They have been attending our home church, Winkler Rd. Baptist Church in Ft. Myers, FL., while there and they have had several opportunities to serve the Lord in church.
They have been able to sing together while there and Elisabeth is going to sing a solo this Wednesday evening. Joshua was able to preach during the Wednesday night King's Kid's program and will be preaching again this coming Wednesday. He was also able to fill-in and teach the 3rd-4th grade boys' class for the past 2 Sundays. Yesterday, in the class, Joshua taught a lesson on "How stupid was Pharoah for not obeying God the very first time?" At the end of the class, a young man stayed behind and Joshua was able to lead him to Christ!
I have been asking God to capture my children's hearts and give them a desire to win souls and work in the ministry. Beth informed me that she has made a decision to marry a preacher! Praise God! (By the way, Kami made a decision to marry a preacher when she was 12 year's old and God gave her the desire of her heart!)
We live in a time when most parents are just content to have their kid's play sports and not do drugs. Why would you shoot so low when raising such a precious commodity? I challenge you as parents to look at the bigger picture...I think the reason most parents aren't raising children who serve God and win souls is because they aren't doing it themselves! As a parent, you need to "sell-out" for God and determine to raise Godly children who can win others for Christ! But this all starts with doing this yourself. It's never too late as a parent to: determine to be in church every time the doors are open; determine to have daily Bible devotions in your home; take your children soul-winning and on visitation at church; and determine to be separated in your dress standards, music, television shows, language and books.
It is such a blessing to have children who truly care about the soul's of men, who love God and who love serving Him! (Deuteronomy 6:5)
Until next time....
