I am asking all of our brothers and sisters in Christ who read these prayer requests, to hold these requests and families before the throne of God. The first two are requests we received via our mission board and the third is a personal request for our Brenna.
1) Pray for Joshua Fleming. We received an email from Jeanette Cullers telling us that Daniel and Susan Fleming's 2 year-old son Joshua has been diagnosed with leukemia. The Flemings are missionaries in the Far East. The doctors in their country said that Joshua is too ill to travel, so coming back to the States appears to be out of the question. The first tests done on Joshua do not look good. The last email I received said that Joshua has been given blood and seems to be a little stronger. Please remember this dear family in your prayers!!! !They have many decisions to make. We will keep you informed as we receive more news.
2) Pray for Jerry Nye. Brother Jerry has been diagnosed witha 90% blockage in one artery. Tomorrow he will have a heart cath to checkfor other blockages and to insert a stint into the blocked artery. He is inthe hospital at Northside Hospital in Atlanta. Sister Dee says that he is doing well.
3) Also, we are taking Brenna to the doctor today (Saturday AM). She is still "run down" and very fatigued for the past several weeks. Oft times she is so sleepy, that she cannot finish school. We have been giving her Flinstones vitamins with extra iron and this has helped a little. However, she has started running a fever for the past couple of days. This has been an on going problem for several weeks now. We will keep you updated.
(Update Already: Never mind the doctor thing today......the doctor here refused to see Brenna this morning.....first they claimed we weren't residents of Les Saules [our neighborhood we live in] although Kami brought proof we live here.......but ultimately, it comes down to whether the doctor feels like seeing you or not. If they don't want to, that's the end of the line, you cannot go to a different medical "walk-in" clinic. I really don't know why they call them "walk-in" clinics, because "walk-in" clinics are supposed to be based on anyone coming in off of the streets to get care. I guess our next option is driving two hours to Jackman, Maine. At least there we know we can be seen right away and get in quickly, except for the 2 hour drive. However, we have been told that we could probably get to Jackman, be seen and treated, and drive back before we would probably have been seen at an emergency room here.)
