We woke up this morning to snow/sleet. Where did this come from? What happened to our Spring?!!!
After breakfast, Bible reading, and a short prayer time, Josh and I headed out in the snow to pick up a trailer. We then headed to the church building in St. Augustin and spent entire day helping the church move out of the building that the church had rented. We were asked by the landlord to move out of the building 5 months before the contract ended. Pastor Roy did a great job working on behalf of the church getting back their rent money they had already paid for the final months and some additional money for the inconvienences that the landlord put the church in. The only problem is that the landlord wanted the church moved out by this coming Wednesday. So today we moved everything out and because the landlord is demolishing the building, we were able to take all of the fixtures, doors, wood flooring, etc. It was a long day but great to put in a hard days work when our normal day has been sitting in class or at a desk at home!
The future of the church is as follows:
Sundays: We will meet at a room in the Friperie (Thrift Store) for now.
Wednesdays: We will meet at Pastor Roy's House.
The hopefully near future: The church is working on buying a piece of property right on the main road of St. Augustin and then trying to build a small building. The church has done a great job at putting their efforts together and giving to the "building fund". We are praying that the Lord would provide the rest of the money needed in a timely manner. We are excited to see what the Lord will do on behalf of Eglise Baptiste de St-Augustin!
