This week has been difficult for Kami. There were times when I found her curled up into a ball on the floor, crying due to the extreme pain in her chest. The medication that she is taking seems to be helping less and less. We are having to make her rest more and more to be able to cope with the pain.
Her doctor is also referring her to a neurologist in hopes that this "new" doctor can help to diagnose the mystery illness. As per his words, "We have checked and viewed the structure of every organ in her body, but now we need to check the function of every organ." He believes that the problem may lie with a disease or an organ disorder that is affecting the nervous system. So again, we wait for another appointment to be scheduled...and probably many more tests.
Noteworthy news:
- Joshua, Elisabeth & Brenna went with our pastor this morning to sing at a nursing/assisted-living home this morning. God is really using their talent to sing!
- Joshua's doctor called us and informed us that Josh's bilirubin level is way too high and he is very concerned. The levels are supposed to be a 0.3 and Joshua's level is 2.8. We have noticed that Joshua has lost 12 lbs. over the past couple of months and is struggling with having energy. He is scheduled for another blood work next Thursday to see what his levels are. We would greatly appreciate you prayers for him.
- The Wednesday night College & Career class is going very well. We are seeing some of the young people to become soul-winners and are now becoming more conscious of passing out tracts. It is great to see them share instances of how they were a witness throughout the week! Each week, we provide a "hot" snack for them so that they can come straight from work to our class.
Kami had Elisabeth, Brenna & myself working on pretzel dough for one of our snacks for the College & Career Class...
Then she contacted several of the College kids to meet her at the church to knead and "twist" the pretzels...It was great to see them working together and having good fellowship!

The finished product was a huge success!...Soft pretzels that were served with a cheese sauce and a honey mustard sauce. We also had some cinnamon/sugar pretzels as well! They were amazing!
- Tonight (Friday), Pastor allowed me to plan a Father/Son Camp Night! We will be camping out in tents for those of us who want to stay the night. There will also be carnival games set up for dads and sons, grilled hot dogs & hamburgers, a teen vs. dad's basketball game, a soccer game for the younger kids, and an old-fashioned Gospel sing that ends with Pastor bringing a Bible challenge to all of the dads and sons. We have over 40 signed up to come and we are planning on a fun-filled evening! (not to mention a night filled with Smores and Roasted Marshmallows!)
